Enter the AHG Helpline, also known as the Animal Hospice Helpline.
This invaluable service stands ready to assist families by connecting them with trained professionals who have dedicated themselves to understanding the complexities of animal hospice and palliative care. Our Level 3 Interns, under careful mentorship, utilize their expertise as graduates in Animal Hospice and Palliative Care, along with their skills as Animal Hospice Counselors and Helpline Specialists, to offer real support to families facing real challenges.

In a world where the default options often seem to be either costly treatments with uncertain outcomes or the consideration of euthanasia, we believe in offering another path—one that focuses on the quality of life for our animal companions in their final chapter. The loss of a pet is an emotionally charged event, and through the AHG Helpline, we aim to ease the burden by empowering families to make informed, compassionate decisions that honor the bond they share with their pets.

ABOUT LEVEL 3
Certified Animal Hospice Helpline Specialist
TIMELINE
Level 3 CAHHS Program:
Winter Session (2025):
- Dates: Begins January 2025
- Begins on the first Sunday in January unless it is a holiday weekend - if a holiday, it will begin on the second Sunday in January
- Time: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM (Pacific Time)
- The two 3-hour sessions will be two Sundays in January
- There will be a break in the middle of the 3 hours of each session
- The remaining training will be guided and depend on the Intern's schedule
Summer Session (2025):
- Dates: Begins May 2025
- Begins the first Sunday in May
- Time: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM (Pacific Time)
- The two 3-hour sessions will be two Sundays in May
- There will be a break in the middle of the 3 hours of each session
- The remaining training will be guided and depend on the Intern's schedule
Required:
- Level 3 Training takes place LIVE virtually/online on Zoom
- There will be 2 Sessions on 2 separate Sundays
- There will be an additional 6 to 8 hours of guided recordings/tutorials
- 48 hours advising on the Helpline under AHG Mentorship
- 60 hours total of training
- Attendance for each session is mandatory (however, exceptions and special situations will be considered on an individual basis)
- We will have special arrangements for International Students
- AHG Level 2 CAHC Credentials prerequisite
- There are no additional resources needed for this course except an optional pair of headsets and/or earbuds
- You will receive CAHHS Credentials after you have completed the required sessions, 48 hours on the Helpline, and passed the essay assessments

Level 3 CAHHS Program
Enrolling in the Level 3 CAHHS Program is simple!
- STEP 1 : Complete the online Level 3 CAHHS Program Application
- Prerequisite: AHG Level 2 CAHC Credentials
- Simply fill out the short application form on this page
- STEP 2 : Meet & Greet
- We’ll set up a brief introductory phone or Zoom meeting with the Animal Hospice Group
- STEP 3 : Enroll & Pay
- An email notification will be sent to you containing an enrollment/payment link
- STEP 4 : Receive access to the program
- An email notification will be sent to you containing your login information and you’ll be ready to attend the first class
