Relationship-Centered Animal Hospice Offers A Different Perspective
Discover a new perspective with Relationship-Centered Animal Hospice. Our approach offers a broader, more inclusive view of the hospice continuum—one that honors not only the pet’s journey, but also the caregiver’s experience and the evolving bond between them. From diagnosis to bereavement and beyond, we see the entire landscape of care.
While traditional Veterinary Hospice focuses on medical needs at the end of life, Relationship-Centered Animal Hospice invites us to consider the whole journey—shared by animals and the people who love them. Each participant sees only part of the path: veterinarians bring medical expertise, caregivers know their animals intimately, and other practitioners offer unique support. When these perspectives come together, we gain a richer understanding and provide better care.
Guided by the Animal Hospice Care Wheel, this course helps you explore the physical, emotional, spiritual, and relational dimensions of hospice. Rather than viewing each stage in isolation, you’ll learn how every moment shapes the next, leading to more compassionate and confident caregiving.
Over eight weeks of LIVE online sessions, you’ll dive into:
- Physical dimensions of the pet's changing needs throughout the hospice journey.
- Emotional dimensions of caregiving, decision-making, grief, and resilience.
- Spiritual dimensions of hope, meaning, healing, love, loss, and continuing bonds.
- Relational dimensions of the evolving bond between pets and the people who love them.
The course includes learning guides, handouts, and post-session recordings each week to support your learning at no extra charge.
No prerequisites are needed. Please note: This is not a certification course.
